Twix's First Year
Here are photos (left and bottom) from Twix's first year at our house. His full grown weight is about 12 1/2 pounds. He is super close to Bambino and even has learned to like the cats! Both dogs will chase the cats but only as a team - individually they are scared of the hissing! Twix is very sweet and more of a lap dog than Bambino. Both dogs attended puppy training classes with our daughter Mara and can sit, lie down, roll over and dance. When we walk them and a car comes they know that the command "car" means they go to the ditch and sit till it passes. Pretty smart little pups! Twix is a sock chewer and we have to make sure they are all tucked away or else! His favourite thing to eat outside is dandelions when they are all fuzzy and grasshoppers (ew). He and Bambino have several matching sweatshirts they wear in winter and all the neighbors on our loop look forward to the fashion show when they go out. Both dogs are incredibly friendly to other dogs and kids.

We had given our 13 year old daughter Mara a Cavachon puppy for her birthday that she named Bambino and we decided that he needed a little brother to play with. Most Cavachon's are very pale because of the Bichon 1/2 (Bambino is tri-coloured and very striking) and we liked the variety of colours available in the Cavapoo. We also loved the personality traits of the Cavalier - really friendly companion dogs that get along with other animals and kids, and the low shedding of the curly dogs.
This was the photo in puppyfind.com that originally attracted us to Whispering Pines Kennel. This puppy looked to us like he was laughing! We called Glenn and sadly learned that he was on hold. A week later Glenn called and told us the lady had changed her mind and we instantly put down a deposit on this puppy and went down to pick him up. He must have been meant to be ours. We saw that the kennel was clean and well run, the puppies healthy and happy and kid friendly since they played with the Kooima's kids. We brought Bambino along and there were two other Cavapoos from Twix's litter available as well...but Twix and Bambino played like long lost friends. He was meant to be our puppy!!!!Twix as a baby.

Our CavaCHON, Bambino, Twix's "brother from another mother". Bambino is two months older and he and Twix get along like litter mates.
