What is a Mini?
Miniature Labradoodles, and Miniature Goldendoodles are produced by using a male miniature poodle as the sire, and mating him with our Labrador, and Golden Retriever females.
Because our mini poodles are very small, (around 10 lbs), this mating must be done by artificial insemination.
This mating enables us to raise these wonderful breeds in a smaller "package" than is produced using standard poodles. Our minis will grow to approximately 25--30 pounds, and stand around 16 inches high at the shoulders. They are less than half the size of standard sized doodles.
The Labradoodle and Goldendoodle are wonderful breeds, which make great family pets. They inherit the great temperment of their Retriever mothers, and the intelligence of their Poodle fathers. Producing them in the mini version is not easy, but we feel it is worth the effort, because they make even better pets. Their small size lends itself better to house and apartment living. Yet, they are large enough to enjoy outdoor family activities. Their grooming needs and food consumption are less than standards, saving you time and money. And, less food consumption leads to less you know what out the other end!!
